The VR One Events Center is more than just a conference facility—it’s a living tapestry of history and creativity. Within its walls, time itself seems to whisper, as the upcycled interior is crafted from materials dating as far back as 1865, each piece carrying the echoes of the past.

This extraordinary space is home to the Carte Blanche specialty shop, a haven for the curious and the eclectic; a music school, where melodies breathe life into the old walls; a charming Old English pub, steeped in warmth and tradition; an inspiring artist’s room, where creativity flourishes; a state-of-the-art conference center, perfect for gatherings of minds and ideas; and a breathtaking great hall, a grand stage for unforgettable events.

The very soul of this building is woven from its historic materials, giving it an unmistakable character—a place where the past and present harmonize in perfect rhythm.

The conference room showcases a unique blend of reclaimed history and modern design, incorporating interior finishings from the historic Bishop House. Ancient wood details, including restored antique teak and intricately carved panels, imbue the space with timeless elegance. A striking highlight is the installation of giant clam shell sinks, evoking the maritime heritage of the Kenyan coast. Together, these elements create an inspiring environment where historical depth meets contemporary functionality for productive gatherings.

The Carte Blanche Shop at Karen Village is an African-inspired retail space that celebrates creativity and cultural expression. It offers a curated selection of exclusive art, handcrafted fashion, and bespoke décor, alongside engaging pop-ups and live art events. 1865 Pub's interior finishings pay tribute to its storied heritage. Antique teak wood from 1865 and vintage tile fixtures have been meticulously restored to capture the charm of a bygone era. Every detail is carefully preserved to evoke a warm sense of nostalgia and authenticity.

This gallery seamlessly blends reclaimed history with a contemporary coastal vibe. Each of the four walls is adorned with a one-meter coral stone skirting, originally salvaged from the Bishop's House, evoking the natural beauty of the Kenyan shoreline. This distinctive design creates a serene seaside backdrop that perfectly complements the vibrant works on display by Kenyan artists. In doing so, the space honors its historical roots while celebrating the dynamic creativity of the local art scene.

Vision 2050 at Karen Village is a grand conference hall located at the end of the VR1 building, adorned with an intricate grill design. This majestic space champions the flourishing of art, culture, heritage, and the economy, reflecting a steadfast commitment to progressive and sustainable development. It embodies a visionary plan to transform the area into a vibrant nexus of creativity and innovation. Through sustainable infrastructure, international partnerships, active community engagement, and pioneering green technologies, Karen Village is poised to become a globally celebrated cultural landmark.

The Terrace

An inviting outdoor café that offers a unique dining experience. It features a serving counter made from repurposed Volkswagen bodies, adding a creative and nostalgic touch. A dedicated kids' playground ensures that young visitors have fun while parents relax. Guests can enjoy their meals at comfortable wooden swivel picnic tables, perfect for a laid-back day outdoors.

Evolution Room

The Evolution Room is a carefully curated space designed to showcase history through photos and artifacts. Its primary aim is to highlight the historical usage of the items on display alongside their modern counterparts. The exhibition offers a brief yet significant overview of African history, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of past events.

All the pieces were acquired with the assistance of the Kipsigis Museum and their board member, Phillip Cheruiyot. These items were purchased directly from their original owners, ensuring that each artifact carries the essence and history of its use within the family it belonged to.
